Where the Week Ends

Where the Week Ends

Goodnight kisses from little daughters
are the sweetest candies for loving fathers
Tales told over yawning lips and sleepy eyes
bring forth rainbow dreams in sunny skies

Recall the day spent in a summer's park
playground games played away till dark
Swinging so high above cotton clouds
jumping the ropes while singing so loud

Shiny pink bell on the shiny pink bike
you can ride far and fast as you like
Stops for golden daisies by emerald shamrocks
wises in delicate dandelions to unlock

Open the basket to start a delicious feast
filled with sandwiches, apples, and treats
Relax on the cloth checkered red and white
as a weary sun sets to begins a starry night

These treasured moments go by so fast
within my heart they'll forever last
Oh, I long for the next time we'll spend
at this special place, where the week ends!
