This morning I woke to a beautiful scene of newly fallen snow. So I made the command decision to take a few photos and apply the
knowledge I am learning.

This photo I play with my aperture setting to take the background out of focus. Yea, yea, I hear you all out there saying "big deal, that's basic." Well screw you, I'm new at this and it cool to me.

This photo marks my first lens flare not Photoshopped in! In fact, none of these photos have been altered from the camera, in keeping with my "learn first then play" rule. This rule is about to be modified though, as I will expand the learning to cover digital methods for recreating film development techniques. You may not know this, but your point and shoot camera is doing some photoshopping to the image when in jpeg mode. Most do a little sharpening, and some color correction. By shooting in RAW mode I'm not getting any "help" so I figure it's time I start "developing" my own "film."

These last two I was just playing with photo composition. They don't strike me as nearly as interesting as the first two, but they make the post longer.
ps. Gabe, the links work this time.
