Soon, I will be moving my blog to a new site - one that I am developing myself. The re are two main reasons for this; one I need to be able to organize my posts and two, I am using the site as a learning project for ASP.NET 2.0. Here is the working design for the new site:

(you might wanna click it to keep from having your nose smudge the monitor)
I am still working on logo ideas, so there will be another version hopefully within a few days. The design is based on "Gila Two" by
Haran. For those not geek, Vi is an old Unix editor, Null is a common programming term used that means "nothing" (not to be confused with zero or empty values). "ViNull" sounds close to "vinyl" - which is what we used before MP3's, CD's and cassettes were invented. The idea is ViNull is a outdated reference, something made obsolete, which is appealing as I turn 30 and mark 12 years in software development.
I am going to release all the code for the site as open source, just the same way that Slashdot released Slashcode. This project will be called "ViNull Siding."

the thing that i've noticed about site designs is that nobody ever remembers to skin form elements.
A lot of the sites I see have this high-design chic and ... plain boxy submit buttons and such.
As for Vinull, the design and/or logo could easily do well with lots of linear lines, as from a vinyl record. As you've already found a design i'd say go with an arcing set of lines behind the name vinull.
