Welcome to the new blog site! I'm still unpacking, so rooms are a little bare at the moment. Also, a few spots need some spackle (the RSS feed an I have different meanings of "GMT").
I'll post soon about the site and what's coming, but right now I want to take a moment and recommend my host, discountasp.net. When I signed up, my card was declined. I checked my card though my bank and all was fine so I figured it was because my bank is not one of the major players - this has happened before. While looking for other hosts to try, I got a call from discountasp.net - the sales rep said they saw the problem and would like to still sign me up if I was interested. In less than 5 minutes after that call my account was setup and I was uploading. This was at 9pm! I then ordered an account upgrade for MS SQL 2005, which was also setup in a few minutes after filling out the online order form - I had fully expected to wait at least a day for SQL server.
Once I had uploaded my database (using SQL Server Management Studio Express), I pointed my domain. I keep a few extra A records in my domain, and while adding them I encountered an error in the control panel. I had an IP of x.x.255.x which the control panel thought was invalid. It was now 12am, so I sent in a trouble ticket with the problem and went to bed. I got an email at 12:37am that my ticket was sent to a system admin, and at 1pm the next day an email from the system admin the problem was fixed.
I've always said customer service is measured only when there is a problem. It's not that I have problems, there will always be problems, it's what you do when I have them. These guys have shown me they shoot for top notch customer service, and I highly recommend them if you need an ASP.NET host!

Your sysadmin is a freshman cs major.
Your host is a PIII 600MHz under his bed.
He has a special Body Pillow.
He snuggles with it.
His university-assigned suitemate thinks it's weird.
His university-assigned suitemate doesn't even know there's a hole in the pillow.
Mmmmmm... Hoooooole.

Hi, Mike.
I've finally made it over her, after returning home. Just want you to know that I've updated my bookmarks, so I'll be checking in, after I decompress from my travels.

DOH! Although I have made it "over her" what I meant to say was "over here."
