Minister of Orders - Republic of Tea

It's late, I need sleep, yet I owe it to Republic of Tea to post this.

I enjoy a good cup of tea, and I'm very picky when it comes to my tea. I've had several brands, but none have impressed me like Republic of Tea. Today I went to buy some of my favorite flavors for Dad as a Father's day gift, and found the store stopped carrying the open leaf versions in favor of the teabag versions. Teabags will not do, so I found the website to order directly (and found it was cheaper too).

When checking out I saw something I've never before seen on the web:

Credit Card #: (no spaces or dashes) For added security, The Republic of Tea never saves your credit card number.

Wow... that is amazing. In all my years of web development I have stressed that CC numbers should not be saved. There is no reason to, merchants can use a transaction ID if they need to issue a refund. Storing CC numbers opens them to a risk of theft, yet every company I've ever worked with tried to keep them. Like, somehow if they save the number, you'll buy more later.

I'm happy to see the company behind the tea I love so much has a clue when it comes to CC numbers. Oh, and if you're wondering what flavors to try there is the best seller Ginger Peach Longevity Tea, or my personal favorites Vanilla Almond Sweeten The Mind Tea and Republic Green Chai Merchant's Tea.

Might I suggest Passion Tea by Tazo? It's a good pick-me-up.

@La Phantome.. teabags will not do (hence the reason for going online), and Passion Tea does not come in a open leaf form... this makes sense because there are no tea leaves in Passion Tea.

@Gabe... I got nothing for this post, Amazon doesn't carry this brand. I know, you really wanted the fly out ad links, but I can only do so much. I did get my teas today, and the Ginger Peach is very good - i can see why it's the top seller. I may even make RoT the official tea of ViNull.Com even if I don't get any kick backs for it!

Pomegranate green-tea (by Republic of Tea) tastes UNBELIEVABLE and masks the overly strong taste of green tea. Does anyone have any recommendations about similar flavored teas (ones that disguise the strong flavor of green tea?)

Green tea is more delicate than black tea. If you're getting a strong/bitter flavor, try only steeping the leaves for 3 minutes.

As for flavored green tea, the Merchant's Tea I listed above is still my favorite.
