A few local bloggers and I are deciding to start a Knoxville Bloggers Meetup.  The focus of the group is not about what we blog, but what we use to blog.  What sites are out there to host your blog, and what are the differences?  What is podcasting, and how do I do it?  Is there an easier way to add photos to my blog?  Why does everyone type the word del.icio.us like that?  These are the kinds of topics we aim to address.  This is for both hi-tech geeks and "just make it work" bloggers to exchange ideas, tips, and provide demonstrations.

For our first meeting, the following will present to the group:

  • Mike (that's me) will demonstrate Flickr and Picasa Web, two photo sharing services that will intergrate with your blog.
  • Daryl will explain the browser flock and how it helps bloggers keep track of it all.
  • Perry will explain how to do a video blog, the tools to make the video and how to share it.

After the presentations, we'll have a round-table discussion.  Along with any questions, will also discuss the time and place for the next meeting, creating a website for the meetups, and how to gr the word out about the group.  Suggestions for topics will also be taken, as well as volunteers to cover them.

You know, now that I sit behind I desk I am overcome with the urge to read a blog. Being your blog is the only one I know about, poof here I am.
What is my life coming too...
But hey I learned that you are having a "Blog Party"
Should I bring the beer?

Mike - Monday, August 21, 2006 9:28:00 PM

Have you seen Gabe after he's had a beer?

Willie - Tuesday, August 22, 2006 6:10:55 PM

Yes, I have gamed with a happy-talky-drunky Gabe before... <shutters>

Gabriel. - Wednesday, August 23, 2006 6:24:35 PM

What do your <window accoutrements> have to do with me and beer?
