(I was going to title this Knox Bloggers Meetup Post Mortem, but Daryl beat me to it.)
Last night's meeting went very well, if not longer than expected. In the future we'll stick to one or two topics at most and allow more discussion and questions during a presentation. We had 8 total show up, we had beer, and we had a good time. Our crowd ranged from the pro-bloggers to the never blogged, and in talking with people afterward, everyone took away something from the meeting.
Going forward, this is something we want to continue doing. Right now, after some discussion last night and this morning, I'm looking at once every four weeks, on Wed at 7pm. This puts the next tentative date at September 20th, 2006. This isn't firm yet, and topics and place are still open.
We'll need a name for our little group, and we don't have to be as dull as "Knoxville Bloggers" unless we want to be. "Orange Writers" or maybe some thing with "Volunteer" in the name. I suck in this area, so I'm very open to any and all suggestions. We'll also will get a little place on the web, but this will just start off as a collection of links and meeting info - calenders, mailing lists, and forums can wait until we get big enough to need them.
Daryl has begun tagging blogs with Knoxville area authors as "knoxblog" in del.ico.us. If you know any Knoxville bloggers, please tag their sites knoxblog so we can build a "who's who" in the K-Town Blog-O-Sphere!
