Penance

I just added Alan Stevens Blog to my Bloglines account, and I'm ashamed.  Not because I added him, but because I just now did this.  Alan runs the local .Net user's group, and he does an amazing job of mixing in big names with talented local folk.  Alan has helped me get on the speakers list at devLink this year.  As if that's not enough, he has linked to my blog before and we know how I live for that.

So for penance I am letting everyone know to go check out Alan's blog  - especially if you're one of my .Net readers.   I've spent a good deal of time going though old posts and I've found quite a number of great code resources.  This alone isn't enough of a penance I feel, so I'll do the one thing (haha; as if there is only one) I hate about blogs and play a few blog games I found on Alan's blog:

My score on The Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test:

Your programmer personality type is:
DHTB

You're a Doer.
You are very quick at getting tasks done. You believe the outcome is the most important part of a task and the faster you can reach that outcome the better. After all, time is money.
You like coding at a High level.
The world is made up of objects and components, you should create your programs in the same way.
You work best in a Team.
A good group is better than the sum of it's parts. The only thing better than a genius programmer is a cohesive group of genius programmers.
You are a liBeral programmer.
Programming is a complex task and you should use white space and comments as freely as possible to help simplify the task. We're not writing on paper anymore so we can take up as much room as we need.

I'm a Planner, High-Level, Team, liBeral programmer.

I'm also an Outcast Genius. I think I need to print up some business cards with that title.

You guys should at least be posting your nerd/geek/dork titles. Seriously, what sounds better, "56% Nerd, 65% Geek, 73% Dork" or "Outcast Genius?" :P
